I would like to extend a really warm welcome to our prospective Year 12 students and families. I am sure that you will see that Brighouse Sixth Form College is a place you where you will be encouraged and supported to achieve your academic potential, and also a place where you can establish really positive relationships with new friends and teachers.
Our visitors frequently comment on the welcoming atmosphere and strength of togetherness between the students and staff and also the local community. As a college who focuses on the personal approach, we can invest time into getting to know you very well and will value you as an individual. We are large enough for you to experience a full college life, but small enough to know you as individual and we offer outstanding pastoral care.
The transition from Year 11 to Year 12 marks the beginning of an exciting journey and I am delighted that you are considering taking that journey with us. You have many decisions to make regarding your choice of A levels/BTEC qualifications and we can support and guide throughout the application process.
The fact that you are here suggests that you know that we are about so much more than just qualifications, important as they are. From the moment our new Year 12 students join us they are challenged to aspire and achieve within a warm, caring and supportive environment. We are committed to ensuring that the opportunities within and beyond the traditional curriculum are rich and diverse including many other extended learning opportunities.
If you need to ask any specific questions about what we can offer you, please email me c.lee@brighouse.calderdale.sch.uk and I will be happy to support.
I look forward to meeting you all in the future and welcoming you in person.
Caroline Lee
